Hi, my name is Julie, and I am so pleased to share this special place in Old Towne Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Developer and local visionary John Hawley relocated the original barn from Vermont and had it constructed in 1998. Along with his wife Liz and their exquisite attention to detail, they included French-sourced antique wrought iron railings and chandeliers, and a Normandy style kitchen design that all give it a quality and feel that elevate you to another time and place. I discovered this gem in 2021, and wanted to keep its original charm by only enhancing its already gorgeous details and building upon an already beautiful garden.
As Creative Director of Lori Morris Design, with a background in horticulture, interior design, and architecture, we added scrumptious, elegant furnishings and created a colour palette that invites relaxation and wraps you in a hug. The garden matches the interior in its individuality and is a place to revel in. Horse drawn carriages drive by daily to show visitors the beauty of this special place. The barn is a secret refuge, set back from the road, feeling as though you are in another world, yet a 5 minute walk to the main street of Niagara-on-the-Lake.
